2000 ws6 loss of power
Can anyone give me info on my 2000 ws6. Iexperience a serious lack off power under hard acceleration. It seems like it may be a fuel issue but i am not sure. I've been told it could a failing coil pack or even my catalytic converter. Please help. Thanks.

any more descriptive details you could share?
1- does the engine start up normal? 2- does it idle/ drive normal under "light" conditions? 3- does it backfire or sputter? 4- when's the last time you've performed a tune up? 5- how many miles on it? 6- have you installed any certain "high perofmrance" equipment on it? (electronic modules, other speed parts) 7- have you disconnected anything under the hood (vacuum lines, sensors, etc?) 8- how long has it been doing this? 9- did it just start getting worse (progressive), or did your car all of a sudden get bad like this? Knowing this could help narrow down some suggestions. |

almost forgot..
If you do have a "service engine soon" light- go to your local auto zone and rent a diagnostic reader tool. it'll display any trouble codes and then mention the problem. then fix it. |

under normal acceleration it seems to perform o.k. Sometimes i get a check engine light, but it will only stay on for about a day and then clear even though the problem still remains. I've had this problem for about two weeks and it is worse some days more than others. The car has 72,000 miles on it. I bought it with 56,000 and have not given it a tune-up since i've had it. It doesn't appear to have a miss in it at idle or if i gas it in neutral. Sometimes it will have a slight backfire when i accelerate real hard. It's not loud, itsounds like maybe a back pressure problem. it does start normally with no problem. Thanks for responding.
