Re: Cobalt SS VS. Ion RedLine

Cobalt SS's are quick and with the pulley swap I hear they pick up another 40 - 70 horse easy however I never raced a Ion redline but according to the numbers listed from the same mags that tested both the Cobalt is considerably faster.

I was only aware of the 205 supercharged SS but was not aware of a 160 Horse version.

It comes w/a revamped 2.4L same motor as the solstice, but not as beefed up. also it comes w/ 17 in rims instead of the 18s. It also doesn't have the close ratio transmission or the sport suspention. it just came to the dealerships around milwaukee w/in the last month or so.A few weeks ago I was talking to a buddy that works in the parts dept. at a GM dealer and he thought I was pullin his chain because they didn't have it at his dealership and he never heard about it. Other than that I don't know much about it. Maybe i'll start another thread. Yeah it doesn't have the big spoiler either.

Its not a 160hp SS. Its a 171hp. Why the hell did they come out with 2 differnt SS? They should have made the LS With the 171hp motor.

On a bonestock SS the psi-fi pulley kit that comes with a piggyback and belt tentioner will get you from 205-210 whp to 245-250 whp.
