Yea yea yea...
...should this be in some other forum? Probably...but I don't care. I post this for friends. My friends on this site are in this forum.
I want to know. What does everyone think about this Hurricane Katrina ordeal? This is what REALLY pissed me off... I think to myself, "why the hell would anyone live anywhere that was BELOW SEA-LEVEL!?"...I've known for years that New Orleans and the surrounding area was below sea level. Now...I know the laws of physics well enough to know that, should something like this happen, you guys are gunna be screwed...I can't be smarter than ALL these peope. I would NEVER have lived there in the first place and I would have RAN, whether I had any way to run or not (I would have wrapped what I could in plastic wrap and literally started WALKING if nothing else), if I heard a category 4 (category 5, the worst possible on earth, till just before it reached shore) was heading my way AND I was below sea level. But now that it's happened and I see the AMAZING damage it's caused, I will never say such a thing again. It's kinda true-ish, but still...at this point, it's just kinda cruel. Some lady in an interview for Countdown with Kieth Olberman (aired at 8 pm Eatern Time on MSNBC) kinda put it best: Something to the effect of, "We can drop supplies for the ones in Baghdad but we don't get anything?" She says this as she's standing outside the New Orleans convention center with all the DYING PEOPLE...they're fucking DYING out there...kids...babies...elderly...they're DYING out there with NO support at ALL. WHY!? I saw the first pictures this afternoon of the dead. The dead outside the "refuge". The "refuge" that was deemed "safe" for these people. They went there because they were promised water and transportation out of town. It's been 4 days and still nothing. What REALLY pisses me off is that people are fucking dying outside the New Orleans Convention Center where people went because the higher ups told them to go there in order to seek refuge and be able to get help. Personally, I blame Shrub...er...Bush. When I think of a President, I think of someone who's going to protect and help Americans first and foremost. Now, New Orleans may be inhabitable for a decade or more. There's human waste running through the streets, gasoline running the streets, millions of people without electric, what toilets are available have human excriment [sp.] reversing through them, etc... Two last things: 1) If the fucking media can get there to film all this I'm watching, why can't help? 2) In this case, flat out KILL the looters...fucking pieces of shit...I'd shoot them my self with my own fucking gun using my own fucking rounds that I bought with my own fucking paycheck. There is NO excuse for this behavior and this is compounded a million times over by the situation. The ones that persist to do this, even now, deserve to be executed immediately, in my opinion. This picture is interesting now...keep in mind, Katrina was a Cat. 5 in the gulf and a Cat. 4 right before coming ashore...

Re: Yea yea yea...
wow buddy, I can see that you feel really strongly about this issue.
Yes I agree that it is bullshit that they aren't getting the supplies that they need, and it pains me to hear that people are dying b/c they can't get their supplies. It seems to me, however, that these people never really planned for the worse, and it seems that those who stayed didn't want to give up on the place that they live. Well the worst case scenario happened, and now we've got these fuckers going in and out of stores stealing shit. I hate them too, and you know what the worst part is??? (read below) A film crew caught to women police officers going into wal mart and comming back out with shoes and random other things. When they saw the cameras however, they tried to push the carts away and act like they weren't looting, but in fact they were... It really sucks that hurricane Katrina had to fuck up the lives of so many... that's my thoughts on the subject.

Re: Yea yea yea...
No, they didn't plan for the worst nor did they react appropriatly for whatever reason(s), but still...that's not what pisses me off...it's the fact that we've been dropping supplies for afgani people for how long now? YEARS. Something happens to Americans and they get NOTHING. Anyone here ever seen American History X? GREAT fucking movie. It's a "homework assignment" for all of you to watch that movie...actually...skip renting it and just go buy it.
"Send us your weak, your hungy, your poor...forget it...it's Americans who are weak and hungry and poor..." --Derrick Vineyard (Edward Norton...one of my favorite actors), American History X, non-verbatim. Hey Bush, Americans should come first...just in case you forgot...

Re: Yea yea yea...
natural selection my friends... a forest grows too tall, too thick, a purging fire is inevitable.. mother nature is pissed and we're finally figuring it out..(well some of us) that goes for everything... cancer? mother natures way of saying it's time to start cleaning house.. disease, famine, poverty.. it's all a cause of overpopulation.. now sure human nature plays a part in this, but hey, mother nature made us too

Re: Yea yea yea...
^^^ EXACTLY. thats what i have been thinking.. i believe all these mass-killing of people happens for a reason, we need something to balance everything out. yeah, its really sad that all these people die and everything, but just think if not many people ever died, we would be definitely overpopulated.

Re: Yea yea yea...
Help might get there quicker if the rescue helicopters were not being shot at by the "victims", and if cops were not being targets for snipers defending their looting friends.

Re: Yea yea yea...
WOW...it SUCKS that you feel this way. killing definitely is not the way to resolve this! more troops, money, supplies and passive enforcement
are the only thing that are going to be able to help these people in a critical situation......... ....and dont call me a hippie killing is just not the fucking answer for misdemeanor/felony shoplifting. those people have necessitites in order to live

the world is going to shit...it could possibly be mother nature's way of saying, "quit screwing me up".
people are killing each other...mother nature is the least of our problems. when you have people trampling thousands of people over in the middle east because someone screamed "Bomb"...you know people themselves are responsible. it is ridiculous...i understand being scared for your life, but taking another thousands of peoples lives away from them because you cant take a split second and make sure you side step them is ludicrous. in the long run it all boils down to people. there is probably a reason for these hurricanes ...soemthing to do with how much we are polluting the air and changing how the earth orbits. or it could just be mother nature's way of saying...life is a priveledge, dont take it for granted. sometimes i sit down and think that i could possibly see the people actually physically destroy the world. technology can only serve us for so long until all resources are deminished.

Re: Yea yea yea...
I would love to know how this is Bush's fault? Do you know who's fault it is? The people who live there in the first place. If you town is that far beneath Sea-Level... And you even HEAR of a Hurricane coming in a direction that might remotely effect you. Leave!
Christ, I live in a Hurricane hitting zone... One of the most hit locations in America actually. I know how these things act, I know how incredibly dangerous they are (I've almost gotten killed in one). My question is, why in God's name was the city no prepared for this? I blame whoever is running that town (The Mayor who was speaking on Television didn't seem too bright). If you know your town is surrounded by water on ALL SIDES, you'd think that you might want to invest some of your funds into building proper levies, and retention walls. The walls that we protecting the city were built in 1965, and had never been tested. It was predicted that had sunk 3-4feet since they were built... Making them just a shade under 12feet tall. Against a 30foot storm surge (Keep in mind, that's JUST the surge, waves are breaking on top of that surge) those walls aren't going to do jack Shit. The Mayor should have had an evacuation plan already drawn up. Had mass transportation on tap for such an occasion, stock food and water supplies, etc. This is by NO means Bush's fault... How in God's name is it Bush's fault? Explain your statement, because I'm at a loss. People are slinging accusations around, and trying to shift the blame onto those who aren't responsible. It's THEIR fault for living there, it's their fault for not being cautious of what could occur, it's their fault for not being prepared. I hate to be so cold, but this is the fact. After every Hurricane in Wilmington, I've not once heard anyone Bitching about whos fault it is that their Ocean Front house on Wrightsville Beach was washed away. They built their house on an out laying island, on Sea Level... So when a 20foot Storm Surge hits, what's going to be left? They know this, they do it anyway, they don't blame anyone else but themselves. I know this, because I know plenty of people who live/lived Ocean Front. My house is right on the Water Way... However, when we built, we had our lot elevated to a safe point. Our house could take a 40foot Storm Surge, and be just fine, the water would barely be lapping into our front lawn. So every Hurricane that's bit (Bertha, Fran, Bonnie, etc) we've been just fine. Know why? Because WE PREPARED OURSELVES IN ADVANCE. These people can blame only themselves. Not Bush, not God, not Osama Bin Laden... No one else can be blamed. I'm sick of everyone blaming Bush for all their problems... Wife left you? Bush did it! Stubbed your toe? Damn you Bush! Over dosed on Cocaine? It's all Bush's fault for not making it legal! Yeah... Screw Bush. ![]() -Wes
