Still no overdrive??? and antilock brake light problem
Does anyone know if the antilock brake system light is on will that stop me from haveing overdrive? Does anyone know the procedure for bleeding the antilock brake system on a 2001 3500 diesel? I have bleeded the wheels 3 times starting at the closest first. also tried bleeding the farthest first. no change, The light isn't on all the time. The brake pedal will become hard and truck doesn't want to stop then the electric motor kicks on the antilock controller then the lights come on. This happens about every 10 miles of city driving.

Re: Still no overdrive??? and antilock brake light problem
I don't think bleeding the brakes is any part of your problem. Sounds like you have a problem with the speed and/or antilock sensors not working right.
Fluid problem would lead to pedal to floor / no brakes condition. |

unhook your battery for a few min, then hook it back up, to see if it will reset the light
