Question About Boost
HEY GUYS/GIRLS WAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAPPPP!!!!
I HAVE A QUESTION. DO YOU THINK IT'S OK TO PUT A MANUAL OR DIGITAL BOOST CONTROLLER IN MY REX. ITS PRETTY MUCH STOCK ALL I HAVE DONE IS A CAT BACK 3" EXHAUST WITH A HIGH FLOW MUFFLER. I WAS READING THAT THE REX HAS 440CC INJECTORS STOCK, SO I FUGURED THAT IT COULD HANDLE ANOTHER 3 OR 4 PSI MORE, BUT I WASNT SURE, SO THATS WHY IM ASKING. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

It can actually handle a little more boost on stock internals, but I would wait until the car is broken in. I got the impression that you recently received your rex, and I was always told to wait til the car was broken in before doing any modifications regarding the engine. Regarding the boost controller, manual or digital, I would think digital would be better, but I don't know much about boost controllers so........good luck.

Dont put the stock boost over 16...especially without ant engine management or a new fuel pump/injectors...your EGT will be very high and never pump up the stock boost unless you have a catless uppipe...I'm sure others will have more negative responses with just cranking up the boost on a near stock REX...you will run lean, have high EGT's, and basically start killing your engine without proper tuning first...Please research and learn before you just start doing stuff to the WRX....PLEASE!!

The stock turbo isn't very efficient much above stock boost levels. You end up heating the air somuch it counteracts any gains you get.
