Oil Cooler Line routing

I just replaced the engine in my 94 K1500 with a used one, and have not put many miles on it yet. Yesterday, clank, clunk, clank came from my engine.

Is there any way I put the oil cooler lines on backwards? My oil pressure sending unit got broken off in the block, and havent got it to the shop to get "easy-outed" so I am unsure of my pressure.

The way it looks, the top line going into the oil pump is also on the top of the radiator, and the bottom goes to the bottom of the radiator.

Can someone please help before this knot in my stomach gets any bigger?

THanks!

Re: Oil Cooler Line routing

oil cooler? what the hell? oh yeah, its a newer truck lol sry i only know a little bit about cars and that little bit is about 73 to 87 chevy's, but if your lines are in the right holes it should work i would guess, key word being guess lol. i had a problem like that with my power steering lines when i took both off without looking which went where.

We'll if ur truck wasnt getting oil, you would know after driving around the block. Im not sure on where they go...you might want to go pick up a manuel gauge, and test it out that way.

Re: Oil Cooler Line routing

The cooler lines go on one way...you can install them backwards but you have to bend the hell out of them..either way, the oil is going to flowout of the pump and back to the block, it will just go through the cooler backwards.

Re: Oil Cooler Line routing

yeah that makes sense. it wouldnt matter which direction it flows since there arent any single flow valves or whatnot in there i would guess
