2002 Taurus engine cooling fan wont come on

hi, all. we are working on a 2002 Taurus, with a 3.0 L engine, and the electric cooling fans will not kick on. there is no Haynes or Chilton manual to be had for this year model car, and we do not know where the fan relays are located. does anyone have any idea where they are? thanks so much, in advance.

Maybe it isn't getting hot enough, no? Look at the manual for the '01 is the same for the '02, is the one I've used.

Try your local library for a manual. Many libraries have shop manuals that are more detailed than Haynes or Chilton. Also many libraries subscribe to online databases that provide automotive help.

Possible reasons why the fan will not come on:
low coolant level
bad fan motor
no power getting to the thermo switch
bad thermo switch (not closing and allowing power to get to the fan)
car is not running hot enough (is the car overheating?)
bad relays

Remove the plug, use a test light and turn the A/C on. If current is at the plug, relay is good. If no current., relay is located in the underhood fuse block.
