boost gauge won't read past 6psi

i have a 84 SVO with a whole mess load of mods. and now the boost gauge won't read past 6psi. i have it hooked up right but it still won't go above 6psi. and before you tell me to rasie the boost i have. i have an adjustable boost knob on the dash.

Sometimes the simpliest answer is the one we don't see. You may have a bad boost gauge.
