Re: what would be the best suspension

If you want a suspension for drag racing, keep the factory set up. You want a sloppy suspension for drag racing to aid weight transfer.

Aftermarket suspensions are going to stiffen the car up which will make it handle better, but be worse for drag racing.

To run consistant 12s, you would need 250-260 rwhp or so.

Re: what would be the best suspension

My suspension is not ideal for drag racing as I am more interested in road racing.

I have the H&R Springs (about $250), the KYB AGX adjustable struts ($350), TRD front strut tower bar ($130 or so), a full ST Sway bar set up ($250 or so).

My car is incredible stiff.

Re: what would be the best suspension

so how much would the ideal set up cost if i only wanted to do drag racing? being moderate items not the most expenseive? another quisten how come most people have 400and over hp to get into the 11s yet your only at 350? your the only person i see with that low of hp going that fast. is it cause of your tuner?

Re: what would be the best suspension

because of where his powerband is, how long the car can stay in it... and, oh yeah, it's pretty light for a mk2

Re: what would be the best suspension

I already said that the OEM suspension is most likely ideal for drag racing, so it should not cost you anything ... you should already have it

I made an 11 second pass with about 320 rwhp or so. The reason I run faster than most is because I have put more seat time in than most ... I have nearly 140 passes on Hyde.

Practice, practice, practice ...

Other things going in my favor is run at low elevations, my car is lightened (although it wasn't when I ran my first 11s) and I am using drag radials.
