Massive oil leak!!!

Ok, i own a 98 blazer 2wd with 165k miles. The other day i noticed a small puddle of oil inder my truck. At first i thought it was power steering fluid but i checked the oil and it was very low and i keep having to add to it. Anyways, today i noticed it again but the puddle was a little bigger. I got to looking under it today and there is oil everywhere, from the back of the front bumper to the driver side fender well and all over the driver side front tire, all around the oil filter and many other places. Me and a buddy crawled under it today to see if we could find out where it was coming from while one of us starts the engine and gives it a little gas. We didn't find anything. The oil filter is tight and i'm reading normal oil pressure. This vehicle had never burned or leaked oil ever and now it's leaking like crazy. I can't find anything out of the normal except a crap load of oil everywhere. I guess my question is, is there some kind of hose that may be blocked or leaking or what? I can pop the hood and look down and everything looks normal. I'll try to dig out the digital and take a couple pics. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!!!

Re: Massive oil leak!!!

Check your oil cooler hoses. That run from the remote filter and they are known to go on these trucks and the aftermarket are alot better.I had them go out on my 91 do a search on that and you will find alot of stuff

Re: Massive oil leak!!!

You keep on driving, you will have to replace the engine.

There is NO excuse for driving your truck when it is like this.

Re: Massive oil leak!!!

I didn't drive it any today, i was stuck with the 79 landcruiser. But i do think it's the cooler lines running to the oil filter. I'm going tomorrow to get the parts and maybe that'll do the trick. Is there any kind of tricks i should know before i replace these?

Re: Massive oil leak!!!

Good news. I found my probleem. I sprayed some degreaser up under there and sprayed it off with the water hose. There was a pin hole leak in the metal part of the line. It was there at the power steering pump. The hole looked as if it rubbed up against another peice and just wore a hole in the line. For right now i just cleaned the spot real good and slapped some JB weld on it. But i do plan on replacing the whole hose in the next week. Thanx for all the help guys.

Re: Massive oil leak!!!

Well, more bad news, went to the auto parts store and almost found what i needed. They said they had the oil cooler line but only for a 4wd blazer. I asked the guy if it was the same as the 2wd and he said it wouldn't work. He also said that he couldn't get me one for a 2wd.

I went to O'Reilly's and they said they had the part but i went up there they tried the sell me just one line.

If i'm understanding all this correct, the assembly is two lines mad together. And all the dealerships are closed due to Labor Day.

I really need some help here. I slowed down the leak but it's still leaking.

Re: Massive oil leak!!!

Ok do what i did and maybe a couple other guys did as well

goto

www.rockauto.com

Find your truck and oil cooler hoses

Then add to cart and tell them to ship it to a business AKA your house shipping will be cheaper and they do not know if its a business or not because for all they know your selling farts in a can.

You will still need to get the gaskets as i did not get them with the lines/

http://www.rockauto.com/ref/RB/Detai...es/625-122.jpg They are 28 bucks plus another 2 for gaskets

13mm box wrench and a 10mm box wrench, a couple of crushwashers and a pan to catch the oil...Not a difficult job..
