I'm sorry, what was your question, your style of posting makes it difficult to understand

You purchased the paint without knowing what it is?

Re: testors glass cote

Man i was messed up. Sorry about that. My question was what is a testors glass cote clear coat. It says Gloss LACQUER over coat, is this any different from a regular clear coat? I actually asked the person at my local hobby shop if they had clear coat. They give me this, I'm thinking this will probably make it look like super shiny. I have had it for about a month. I am just using it now and i notice it says lacquer. I dont know what lacquer is please help me.

Re: testors glass cote

laquer is the strongest of the common paints used for painting models. you got your acrylics, enamels, and then laquers. what kind of paint is your copper color? ie. what brand, or whatever it says somewhere on the can. laquer, being the strongest, should not be used over anything but laquers. laquer will melt through enamels and acrylics. there is a tutorial somewhere in either the how-to depository or the FAQ. take a look. hope this helps a bit, i don't quite remember everything i read about paint.

Dare I say it but the FAQ is the perfect place to start learing about paints. Daggerlee wrote an excelent piece on exactly this subject.

Re: testors glass cote

yea either the FAQ or the how-to depository has a great write-up on paint, like RallyRaider said. i was amazed by how much paint type matters, and how much i learned in the write-up. if you want to spray clear over your acrylic or enamel paint, your best bet is to use a corresponding clear. some people on this forum say Testors doesn't make the greatest sprays, so i use either Duplicolor or Plastikote products for my spraying.

Re: testors glass cote

i haven't used Tamiya sprays, but i heard they are excellent. i think Duplicolor is much better, well... just because it gives me satisfactory results and is much more cost effective, cuz you end up getting almost 3 times as much for a couple bucks more. some kits thought(like the new Revell C6 Corvette) don't like Duplicolor, so you have to be careful there.
