Hop up 89 escort

Recently I required a 89 escort for dirt track racing for my daughter. Does any one out there know of any cheap ways of kickin up the horse power or old timmer tricks for these 1.9s It's a plane jane no ac ps . I plan on building headers for it . Is there any quick tbi change overs out here that helps them Get More Ass. Any help givin will be appreciated.Thanks

Instead of building a header, just grab one from a 1st gen GT 1.9 HO. Or just grab the entire motor and computer/harness.

take a look farther back for a posting tittled 1.9 Performance options. Theres a lot in there.
I have a built a 94 rally car and I can tell you first hand that the car is really good except for the fast that there is a lot of weight that you dont need. There are a ton of tar sheets in the back and floor that can be removed. Take out as much weight as you can and youll be surprised at the way the car moves.
