95 Accord Electrical problem

Weird electrical problem. Rear defroster went out, power antenna no longer works. The little bell that rings when my lights are on when I turn off the car no longer works. The interior lights no longer work and have blown a fuse and continue to blow the fuse, right when I replace it. I have checked all the fuses and looked at the wires under the hood and everything looks ok. Seems to point to a short somewhere. Any help is apprciated. I have checked the lighter as a possible short. No luck.

Re: 95 Accord Electrical problem

Does it blow the fuse if all the doors are closed or the door switches are taped to think all the doors are closed? It is also possible that the power antenna has a short. Power is provided to the antenna unit regardlless of ignition switch position. Disconnect it inside the trunk

Yes, it blows if the doors are closed. I looked at the antenna, but I will disconnect it and see what happens. Thanks. Do you think this might also tie into the rear defrosters not working also ?

Strange!

I have a similar problem on my 92 Accord:

These things all stopped working together. Once in a blue moon they will all work for one day.

Rear defroster
power antenna no longer works.
The little bell that rings when my lights are on when I turn off the car
Intermittent Windshield Wiper

My interior lights do work. I must have a bad ground--all fuses are good.

Smile

That was it. Pulled the wires to the antenna, replaced the fuse and everything started working again. Rear defrosters, interior lights, wiper delay, lights on beeper. Thank You so much for saving me hundreds of dollars in troubleshooting..........

thunderoad, did you keep your power antenna disconnected? I have the exact same problem on my '96 accord and am wondering if I can get the antenna back working.

Re: 95 Accord Electrical problem

You can disconnect the antenna, remove it from the car and then disassemble to see what the problem is. Or you can check the junk yards and get another for about $100.00
