SS vs. Z-28
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to buy a camaro, but I know pretty much nothing about cars. I've started learning a bit about everything and I think I'm getting the hang of it. But I can't decide if the SS or Z-28 is a better choice. What do you guys think?? Any kind of input would be great. |

What years are you lookign at? with 4th gens the performance difference was not too much, and a lot of people say if you want a car to mod go with z28 and if you want a more rare car to keep stock go with the SS.

I'm looking more into the first and second generations, like between 1968-1973, to restore for drag racing. I heard that the ss was the better way to go, but I can't find anything to really back that up.

Re: SS vs. Z-28
If you are looking at 4th gens....only the SLP SS had a couple more horses.
Regular SS's and Z-28's were powered the exact same. Might see a little more power on the dyno with the SS, but run the same times at the track with both cars. The SLP is only a bit more powerful thanks to free flowing exhaust.
