Angry Aftermath of Katrina. How much for gas?

Man, this is unreal. I filled up last night with premium and it was $2.89 per gallon. This morning I saw $3.09 for premium posted on the sign at the same gas station.

How much are you paying per gallon, regular unleaded, mid-grade or premium?

It would be interesting to see how we are all getting screwed.

Re: Aftermath of Katrina. How much for gas?

Gas in central PA was $2.59 for regular, $2.69 for mid grade and $2.79 for premium. (Sunoco) On Sunday I paid $.12 less a gallon. I noticed some places the cost went up $.12 yesterday. Exxon this morning was $2.69 per gallon for regular.

If you check the NYMEX the price of a gallon of gas wholesale has risen from $1.95 for Oct. delivery before the hurricane to $2.66 per gallon as of 1/2 an hour ago. Some news services are saying $4.00 per gallon in the very near future if the refineries don't get back into operation soon. Of course the oil companies continue to make huge profits at our expense!!!

Once again you can thank Uncle Sam and the EPA for the price increase since there hasn't been a new refinery built in this country in the last 40 years due to environmental regulations.

Here's a good topic, do a search see the gas prices in Europe. Then in the middle east, kind of interesting.

Re: Re: Aftermath of Katrina. How much for gas?

Update for West Texas (El Paso)

reg. unleaded $2.99
mid-grade $3.09
premium $3.19

What's ironic is we have two refineries in the County and oil fields of West Texas Crude just 250 miles east.

Its unbelievable how one catastropic event or act of mother nature can affect the whole country.
