Wiring Question
Not really a car audio question, but along the same lines. I bought 100 red LEDs off of eBay a couple of months ago to make a custom underglow kit for cheap. My plan is to cut fuel line in half, and drill holes every 5-6" or so and put the LED wires through the holes and super glue the LED to the front. Then super glue the fuel line underneath the car. The reason I wanted to do this was because there will be no glass to break(fuel line is rubber so it'll give if I hit anything), no holes drilled into my car, alot more durable, and cheaper.
Now for the question: How do I wire all these together? I want to have 35 LEDs on the sides and 15 on the front and back. Can I wire them in a series, or will the resistance become to low? Thanks

So do you think it's possible to wire them in a series or will it fry them.

Re: Wiring Question
you can light 20 leds with a aaa battery wont last long but it will work if you the right circuitry. As for your question i wouldnt suggest cutting your fuel line in half for any reason what so ever. ANd superglue wont hold for very long from going to hot to cold or any weather for that matter. Like paul said a bodykit will hid them or in some cases a truck with a frame can hide them. Judging by the talon though a lipkit or groundeffects would be best.

Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota. Cardomain |

Re: Wiring Question
I'd wire left side leds in parallel, right side leds in parallel, front leds in parallel and the back leds in parallel then the 4 sections in series. If you did the lot in series you wouldn't be able to drive them.
(you would need 200+volts! going on a 2.6v voltage drop across led) i disagree with PaulD - theres no way ur gonna see the actual leds unless ya stick ya head under ya car.. What car has a flush chassis?

Re: Wiring Question
Yeah, I don't think you would be able to see them becasue I have a perfect spot for them.
Also, superglue should hold up seeing as I'm only driving this car in the summer. What would you guys suggest to secure the fuel line to the body? 3 day weekend, so after work I'm going to experiment and see if I can get something to work. Thanks for all the help.

Re: Wiring Question
Got 1 side done. It took me like an hour to do, and it's still not wired. To wire the LEDs parallel I'm gonna use some 14 guage wire, then wire the 4 sets of LEDs into some 10 guage wire with an in-line fuse.
