Question How many have these common 1st gen problems?

Well these aren't really anything major, just little things I've noticed on both of my S10s and other peoples first gen S10's. How many of your s10's have a broken spring on the drivers door inside door handle?
How about your wipers going once sometimes when hitting your blinker, when starting your truck, or just anytime randomly? How about your weatherstripping shrinking around your door openings? Or the corners cracking off on your windshield washer fluid bottle? I'm just curious.

Re: How many have these common 1st gen problems?

None on my Blazer, what I did found is the drivers door weather stripping streched, and the coolants resovior bottle has a broken corner

The door hinge pins were really bad on my Blazer, which is probably what caused the weather stripping to strech. I actually had to get 1 hinge partly welded back on, and the other was broken in 1 place. It closes good now

My window weather striping is really bad how about yours?

oh yeah I keep grabbing "good" pieces that aren't cracked off junk yard trucks and they last maybe six months before cracks develop. I've tried some of that rubber conditioner but I think they are usually too far dried out. My camaro is even worse, but it is 20 years old.

I've seen the window weather striping new, but it's an outragous amount of money.

I will probably replace mine in the spring though

Re: How many have these common 1st gen problems?

on my 91 blazer the drivers side door hinges need repaired(again), my wipers come on everytime i start it(only one swip though), my biggest problem is the door handles keep breaking on me. ive went though 3 already. well needing to get the 4th one now, lol.
here is one for you how about the body leaning towards the drivers side? ive seen a few older s10 that are all leaning the same way(weird). and another one would have to be brakes locking up early in the morning every morning only until the 2 or 3rd time applied then all is well.

Just about every car manufactorer has a car that starts leaning towards the drivers side.

I might be wrong, but I think that it's because the drivers weight eventially weakens the springs on that side
