when are they making an AWD Rally SRT-4 ?

You know they should do it. You know it would sell well.
and you know that would shut up a LOT of people.

They are two completely different frames though. I have seen alot of people "TALK" about doing that, but noone has ever finished it...too much $$$$$ involved. As fas as Dodge building an AWD, when have they ever? And it probably wouldn't sell because of the public's perception about the neon.

Re: when are they making an AWD Rally SRT-4 ?

i went to srt nationals in 2004 and spoke to one of the head guys from dodge and he said they prolly wont do it because it will add about $3000 to the price...dont know how they feel about it now, especially with the last year for srt4's being 2006...but you never know

The Stealth R/T turbo was available as AWD. I forgot about that one. The stealth didn't stay in production long because of slow sales.

Thought so... rich kid around here had a bright white one, and must of threw a ton of cash into it... was the only time I saw a street-driven Stealth that could yank the front wheels off the ground. Only saw it twice, word was someone broke into it and gutted it, then he totalled it afterwards.

Re: when are they making an AWD Rally SRT-4 ?

its kinda funny that chrysler offers the 300c and magnum with an optional AWD platform which i didnt even know until i just ran into that info pretty much. it would be nice if every auto manufacturer would offer awd, it would make the srt4 much more attractive to me since i kind of have my sights set on the mitsu evo8.
but if i had to choose between a car with fwd and awd id rather go awd; but brand new vs going to a 1 or 2g dsm tsi awd, or gsx. older awds are getting more scarce so if there was a 20-25,000 awd neon that wouldnt be bad. i think id rather spend it than 32 or 36 thou.-could purchase a brand new 300c for that ^ ^

but then again if i found a mint 1g dsm for less than 5grand lol...(needle in a haystack)

Re: when are they making an AWD Rally SRT-4 ?

If I was hell-bent on a new AWD I would probably go for a new Impreza, maybe the WRX... even the base motors now are all 2.5 and they re-did the valve lift and timing to give the NA's some extra kick and they start off around $20k I think

The Caliber

The Caliber is coming out in the beggining of 2006 ans will have optional AWD.

the SRT-4 version of the caliber will possibly be AWD 2.4L turbo with FMIC.

More info of the upcoming Caliber

Hopefully they get the fire under their feet and release the caliber faster!

Re: when are they making an AWD Rally SRT-4 ?

Jeep will have a AWD version of the new "Caliber" that is coming out, it will be called "Compass". I'm sure that if the SRT version of Caliber comes out FWD only, we will see some guys put SRT motors in the AWD "Compass". Might be a way of having a "sleeper" that your insurance company knows nothing about.
