Yeah that happens to me too. When I sit idle and puch my ac button, I'll here a click, I never really thought anything of it. It should be okay. I wouldn't worry about it. I have a 99 G20 by the way.

Lightbulb air conditonor

It's one of two things things: you either have a junky car or ther's something in the air conditonor. If I where you I would take it to a car repair place because I'm not a mechanic!

It's normal to hear that click when the compressor clutch engages and disengages.

1PNYBOY,
I own a '99 g20. When the climate control is at 85 it blows out hot air. But then when I lower it to 84 it starts blowing cool air. Do you know why?

Graph,
You probably have a bad temperature sensor, the one located in the evaporator area. Had the same problem with several I30's. It's under warranty, take it in.

Man!!!! You have 60k on a '99? Well it's out of warranty for that, unless you got it in good with the service advisor at your local dealer. I'll usually lower the miles a little for my good customer's, that way I can cover it under warranty. Contrary to what people believe, we get paid very well for doing things under warranty. Either way I don't think the part is very expensive. If you like I'll get the part # and the price for you. Just let me know.

When I startup my Air con I get a short hiss sound, but it can only be heard if you have the windows down- as I tend not to have the windows with the AC on the AC is inaudable. Mine is a European G20 (Primera GT)

That sux! I've had this problem since 24k miles. I was just too damn lazy to go get it checked out. Oh well, how much is the part and is it fairly easy to replace? Thanks
