'92 Crown Vic Idle problems

It starts fine and it seems to be a problem that comes and goes and when it comes its like the car will only idle for a few seconds then start to slow down to point of stalling then rev back up. It will do this a couple of times before it finally stalls out.

Gets annoying while your waiting for a light to turn and the lights in the car start to dim and it starts to shake and you just know so you have to feed it some gas. It even stalls while rolling or when sitting still in park. It needs more throttle or it just dies out. But it only happens when its really hot or the air is high humidity.

Any help would be appreciated.

To me it sounds like your IAC.

Re: '92 Crown Vic Idle problems

IAC allows the car to idle or run when the throttle plates are closed. And the only best way to fix the problem is to buy a new IAC. I have heard that you can clean it but sometimes that does not even work. The IAC Is located on the throttle Body or around that area on the intake manifold, I am not 100% sure because I mainly fix 5.0 or 5.8.

heres a simple way to find it loo at the tubeing thaty gose from the air box to the throttle body now ull see theres two hose that connect to it theres one that go to the valve cover and one that gos down behind the intake manifold sorry to say but follow that hose and it runs right in to the iac
