Unhappy rb26dett parts

hi there, first off im new here so if i posted this in the wrong place or there has already been a post im sorry. im trying to find out where to get normal jdm non performance parts for a rb26dett engine. stuff like timing belts, oil filters, egr valves etc that wont be insanely expensive. i am located in the US and have called many auto parts stores and even the nissan dealership, and they all tell me they cant get parts for that engine. i know there has to be a source because other people have this engine in the US and stuff will always break on an engine... thanks in advance for your help.

Re: rb26dett parts

When you called at the dealership did they laugh at you?

You kids have to understand something... RB engines are great engines... yeah! But they are not readily available nor are their parts! If you need parts... you need alotta $$$ when it comes to these engines. They are very impractical this day and age for the every-day Joe plain and simple! It's funny when I see threads like: "Yo-yo-yo i wanna drop an RB26 in my dorifto S13" and the kid is working at McDonalds...

But to answer your question:

You can get parts through www.motorex.net and www.rbmotoring.com

But to be plain and simple: You ain't gonna find the parts cheap...

Re: rb26dett parts

BTW: most of the people that have these engines and have the kinda cars that have these engines are probably alot better off than you and I and can afford them... think RICH PEOPLE.

my best tip for you is that if you are buying this car that it be a show off weekend car

not a daily if its a daily daym, you will be looking at mad cash if anything breaks

Re: rb26dett parts

yeah i could definitly post some pics if i decide to buy it. i just dont know if it would be worth it in the longrun because i know things would break eventually... haha i dont think i could handle just having it a weekend car im sure it would be way too much fun to drive. but i get what you are saying. also a little too expensive to be a "show off" car.

Re: rb26dett parts

"Why is this person selling it" is what you should ask yourself also.... how much is it going for?

Re: rb26dett parts

he is selling it to pay debts that his son has. the final price has not been fully worked out yet. im still trying to decide whether it would be worth it to begin with, and trying to think of other possible reasons for him selling it. possibly the lack of available parts...

Well those motor don't exactly just drop in... y'know? Find out who/where it was swapped... hopefully it was done right and not just rigged! Has he ran the engine for you? have you driven in it? i would do all this plus maybe have someone who is remotely a decent mechanic go with you when you do this. Don't get me wrong... I'm not trying to hate! It would be awesome to have an RB powered car! But there are so many people out there that want to make a quick buck and wouldn't think twice about ripping some-one off! We gotta look out for each other! God knows i would love an RB in my Zeto!

Good luck and let us know how it goes...

Re: rb26dett parts

yeah i would definitly have to make sure everything is in the condition and running the way he says it is before i even think about buying it. it looks like the swap was done right considering how many custom parts he mentioned like driveshaft, trans mounts, steering rack, etc. from what i have read if you get the right mounts and a rb25 trans its pretty much a drop in. i looked and the mounts alone are over 1000 dollars.. but i guess if u want one of the best engines around in your car its gonna cost you 3 arms and 7 legs lol.
