B2000 skip

I just recently R&R'd a head on a 8/1984 Mazda B2000 Truck. The head gasket had blown between 3 & 4. We took it to a machine shop where it was shaved (I'm not sure how much) due to warppage. The valves were ground as well. I have made the first head torque and valve adjustment; and reassembeled all the ancilleries. When cranked there was a skip in the engine. Actually sounded like two cylinders were still missing. Also it will not idle. I pulled the plugs after letting the engine warm up and 3 & 4 looked as if they were starting to smoke up. 1 & 2 looked clean. I ran a compression check and the cylinders registered 175lb across the board. We then changed the plug wires, cap, rotor and already had new plugs in it. Same problem. The intake manifold is tight. What am I missing here? What woud cause the back two cylinders to miss? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: B2000 skip

Well for the 13 views I got the answer to the problem was a disconnected vac hose that was hidden. I'm not sure to what but it went down the backside of the engine and into the transmission tunnel. I suppose some kind of vacume for a transmission servo or the like. Just glad to have found it.

I think the only vacuum line that runs that way is for the evap system on the fuel tank. ^.o
