WIP Hasegawa Toyota Celica 1600GT

This is Hasegawa's Celica 1600GT "Race Configuration". The only "Race" parts that come with the kit are the body panels and wheels, and part of the roll cage you aren't supposed to use. I made the cage a full cage, added some interior detail, Studio27 harness. The wimpy tires that came with the kit(left) aren't going to cut it especially with the body panels so I will use the Fujimi Pirelli's pictured(right). I want to keep this as much of a wekend racer as I can. Color will be straight black. I also don't know which wheels to use as I like both? Thanks for looking comments and suggestions encouraged.

looking good, i like the left wheels best though, it's a nice change from all the watanabes on these jap classics.
Which color are you painting it?

Cool project! Nice start, and I agree that the four (or is it eight?) spokers look cooler, and are a more original choice than Watanabes.

It will be Tamiya TS-...um black I forget the number, but just black no pearl or metalflake. Simple, and I think I will put the numbers on that came with the kit, possibly some weathering.

I beleive the rim on the left are Tom's, but not too sure. I think a deep dish rim would suit the look you're after. Do the rims you have happen to be "big n' littles?"

Well, I like this old school Toyota! Definatly my kind of model.
