91 Lesabre Harmonic Balancer Replacement
My son is driving my old 91 Lesabre with 220K. Thanks to the posts on this site, I was able to find the knocking problem being the harmonic balancer. By the way, the universal removal tool at AutoZone doesn't work. I had to buy one from CarQuest ($40) because it uses special bolts. My question is this: Will the harmonic balancer from a 93 Pontiac Bonneville with a 3800 work as long as I get the Crankshaft position sensor as well? In looking at them, the timing bands on the 93 are further apart than my existing one so I will have to have the sensor. However, after installing it and driving it for about 20 miles, now it won't crank. I noticed that it was losing power and acceleration before getting to this point.

The Service Engine light never came on. I haven't coded it since it quit running as I don't have a decoder.
