Unhappy Brake pedal

Hi guys,
I'm having problems with the brake pedal. The brake light is always on. I have to put my foot in behind of the pedal to pull it up for that last 1/8 of an inch to shut off the brake light otherwise the brake light stays on all the time. The brakes work fine, it's just that last 1/8 inch I can feel a little click that I guess turns on and off the brake lights.

Is there anyway to fix this? Maybe by pulling any slack (play) from the brake pedal line? Any help would be great.

Update:
Okay if it wasn't for the local parts guy I would have walked out with a part I didn't need in the first place which is called a "stop lamp switch".
He told me if I really needed that part the taillight would have not lit up at all.
There is a set screw that needed to be adjusted on the switch itself.
