what is causing my rough engine noise
I am hoping someone here can help me identify what the cause is of my engine noise. The noise is originating on the front right side of the engine, in the area of the serpintine belt. The car idles at normal rpms, and seems to accelerate the same, but the engine noise is no longer quiet, and almost sounds as though it is knocking about while idling. Anyone have any idea what the issue might be, and what I can expect to face when I take this to the dealership? Thanks in advance.
I wanted to make sure I gave enough information. The car is a 2002 Alero, 4 cyl, 5 speed manual. Also, there seems to be additional noise when I steer, as though there is a rough sound from my power steering. I recently had the serpentine belt replaced. The sounds did not start immediately after, it has been 2 months or so since then. |
