How reliable is the 2001 R/T? And why is there no info on a 3.0L DOHC?

I have heard some bad things about the older 2.7L V6, but how is the 2001 Mitsubishi 3.0L?

Oh and this has me kind of cunfused. They say the 3.0L is a SOHC. But take a look at this picture. It clearly shows 6 clyinders (sp) and 24 valves. http://tinyurl.com/953gp I know that is in a R/T because there are other pictures of this car. http://tinyurl.com/blgtd

"Brisk acceleration performance is a big part of the attraction of the Stratus R/T. Its 3.0-liter single-cam V6 develops 200 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 205 foot-pounds of torque at just 4500 rpm."

Ok if those are the specs for the SOHC, what is the DOHC like?!

Re: How reliable is the 2001 R/T? (3.0L)

Yes the R/T Stratus motor is a very reliable motor. It is the exact same motor that they run in 3G (2000-2005) Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. They are actually SOHC motors. They don't make a DOHC 6G72 in any newer vehciles. However they did make the DOHC 6g72 for the 3000GT SL and Sealth SE models and a Twin Tubroed verison on the 3000GT VR4 and the Sealth R/T.
