91 xlt with 128k miles.......trans

When I first start the thing up I have to manually shift 1, 2 then into drive after about 200 yards and it shifts fine after that. Going down teh expressway the overdrive works great,,,,

Now,,,if I stop I have to shift back to D,,but it works great....

I drove the thing over 800 miles on a trip and no issues,,its just when I first start out it needs shifting,,,,any ideas????
