Wink I need help buying an engine

I am not sure what it is exactly I am looking for. My boyfriend wants an engine swap and I am trying to find something but I keep hitting dead ends he has a 1998 Honda Civic Ex and I guess I just need to know what would be the most effective engine to increase his horsepower and where would be the best place to go to get it online and I dont want to ask him cause its kinda a surprise course it wouldnt be once he found the bill.

^^Agreed, definitely go with the B18c1. The swap is very straight forward and the engine is about the most widely modded Honda engine for good reason. www.hmotorsonline.com
