Electrical problems??

Hey there,

I bought my 2000 Malibu a few months ago with only 60k miles on it. It's in excellent condition inside and out.

Now, however, when I start the car certain things will stay off...like the AC and AC lights, cruise control and cruise control lights, door locks will not work, fuel guage stays at 0, temperature guage stays at zero, and then several seconds to several minutes later (last night it took 15 minutes of driving to get them all back) they all come back on...I've tried restarting the car several times when this happens, but it does nothing..

Does anybody know what the problem might be? Please...any comments are helpful ones.

Collegue of mine had same issue on his 04, turned out to be a faulty BCM.

I had the same type problem a few months back,even my power windows quit working.I had the dealer change the ignition switch.It fixed all of the problems.

I had the same problem with my 2001 Malibu. The dash lights would delay and the headlights and then I'd hear a thump and everything would pop on. I was told it was the Body Control Module too.
