Brakeproblems on a ´93 Plymouth GV

Hi, I have a 1993 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE with the electric compressor powered brakesystem. This summer while on vacation it started to fail building up the pressure, and the compressor ran all the time. I disconnected the cables to the relay to eventually save the compressor, (thank god for a wide brakepedal, two feet fits at the same time!) Now I've got hold on a complete used headcylinder brakesystem with compressor and still attached. But I was wondering if I should try to change just the compressor or the whole system? If just the compressor, then will I need to bleed the whole system? Changing the whole system will do that I know. Is there any way to know what has failed, the compressor or something in the headcylindersystem? What is most likely?

Thanks in advance

Go to the Dodge.com website and check under recalls and see if that part is covered by a Dodge dealer. I am having similar problems and they are going to replace the part for me for free.
