Re: Foglight Out!

I don't know what the 95's are like but mine's a 98 (First year with the New front end) and I can reach the fog lights through the hood to just replace the bulb. If you gotta replace the whole thing just get a cement block, jack your car up with the factory jack and lay it on the block (but be sure to put a piece of wood between your car and the block to protect your car) or you can just leave it on the jack but I don't recommend it. Our cars are way too low and heavy, if it happens to fall it'd be a bad day. You shouldn't need any more than a few common hand tools.

Re: Foglight Out!

That sucks, I have one busted on mine too. The thing is that I don't have the money to buy a new one right now though. They're expensive, like 97$ for a new one.

Re: Foglight Out!

Here's a guide on how to change it. I think it has a way to change it without jacking up your car.

Re: Foglight Out!

if its older 92 or older the fog light bulb isnt changeable you will have to buy a whole new fog light.

Re: Foglight Out!

I have a 94 and I changed mine without a jack or a lift. All you have to do is reach up in there find the back of the lens dealy and twist the light bulb out. Then plug the new bulb into the wires and put the new bulb back in, just remember not to touch the bulb with your fingers the grease from your hands can cause the light bulb to burn out sooner.

Uh, ya why would you have to jack the car?????

As much as I love the '93-'97 light setup I absolutely HATE how the fog lights are housed! I've always used long plyers (horribly sp'd) and a kitchen knife, but its such a bitch when you lose those plastic tabs or bend them out of shape (or brake them). And there's such little clearance on either end to fit the plyers in you end up scraping paint within the opening.

EDIT - well thats interesting to go from underneath and just replace the bulb...

I think I'll do that from now on - but not yet. The next (and final time) I go in through the front I'll be replacing all the busted and mangled tabs once and for all! AHHHGGGGRRR what a brutal design!

Re: Foglight Out!

ill tell u why u would have to jack up your car, if u arent a skinny guy then u can get under there without a jack, also his car could be lowered like mines, so if u wanna get that damn splash gaurd off so u can reach under there to get to the fog lights then u will need to jack up the car. after that man its just like changing a light bulb in your house

Dawg, go to advance auto parts. Mine went out and i bought the bulb for like 10 bucks. Tthen went to a lil hole in the wall mechanic shop and they put it in for another 10. IT matched perfectly
