2001 Venture Electrical Gremlins

We have a 2001 Chevy Venture that has gremlins!!

Shortly after we got it, the horn would occassionally blow on its own while driving down the road, the locks and windows would suddenly quit working and then start working again on their own and the radio would not turn off when you opened a door after shutting the van off. After doing this several times it went away and had been doing great for the past couple years.

Fast forward to 2 days ago.......

My wife was driving home after running an errand. She said that all of a sudden the message center starting scrolling through messages, the OnStar started beeping at her, the doors were locking/unlocking and the various warning lights started flashing. What happened next we're not sure, but all I know is my wife told me that the brakes went to the floor and she lost power steering. Long story short she ended up running off the road and hitting a tree.

I'm thinking that the van probably died, but I can't explain the other electrical issues that happened that day as well as the earlier problems. Heck they might not even be related.

If anyone has any ideas as to what may have happened, I'd love to hear them. At this point, she is refusing to drive the van when we get it back.

Thanks,

Gary
