89' Taurus SHO, runs $600.00, NW Indiana
As you can tell I'm not a car salesman since I'm going to list everything I know that is wrong with it.
Now red slightly peeling, originally silver. Pinhole leak in radiator. Motor mounts are wore out. Gray leather interior. Drivers seat has two holes. They are the six-way power seats. The headliner has a couple of small cuts. No rust through, but the trunk lid has a couple spots that the paint is bubbling, about silver dollar size. Right front fender and hood had been dinged and repaired badly before the red paint job. Rear left window doesn't work. Keyless entry works. Power antennae works. Original radio is in the trunk. (After market came out to go into another vehicle, didn't want to put original back in if buyer didn't want to go that route) Tires have less than 6,000 miles on them, but the left rear has worn badly on the inside. Haven't checked to see why. The exhaust is pretty new, but the flange to the cat keeps coming loose due to the motor movement from the bad motor mounts. When the wipers are turned off, they come back to the down position, but don't continue on down to the retracted position anymore. It has the automatic headlights, automatic climate control. 5 speed manual transmission and the Yamaha SHO V-6 motor. My father gave it to my son couple years ago after it had been sitting in a garage for 5 years. So it has had some rest from use and elements in its life.
The good thing about this car? Well, last year going down an open highway having swapped with my son for a day. A Buick Grand National gave me a honk and a nod, I did the same back and did a five count holding up my fingers showing the countdown to him. I have no doubts from a stop he would have left me, but starting at 65 mph, I grabbed second gear. At 100 I had 10 car lengths on him. 120, he was still there, but 140 must have had his engine revving too high because the sound from it wasn't very pretty. He probably wasn't geared for that type of race. Made me feel 25 years younger. Send a message if you're interested.
