2000 Rodeo 4x4 - slipping out of gear

Just started yesterday. Worse in the lower gears. Feels like it pops out of gear, revs high, and then pops back in. Seems to run much smoother at higher speeds but maybe still some hesitation. Question? Could just simply being a quart low on oil cause this?

I've researched the forum and understand that a tranny flush would be the first thing to do... maybe followed by a possible shift solenoid problem or a worn valve body?

Rodeo has 79K with no problems for the last two years. I change the oil every 3-5K and have noticed more oil consumption, but never had the tranny slipping problem.

Thanks in advance for advice! DGH

Do a search for 'range' or 'mode' sensor. This is the most common cause for 4L30E AT issues.
