2000 Taurus Remote Start?
Under the hood of my 2000 Taurus I got last week, theres a sticker thats says that my car has a remote start, and to test it before i work under the hood to make sure the safety switch works. Yet it never came with a remote with a start button on it. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Re: 2000 Taurus Remote Start?
If the remote start is still installed, it will need to be tapped into the ignition harness somewhere. The easiest place to do this is under the steering column where there is a wiring connector. A few companies sell T-harnesses with pigtails for remote start, so maybe the previous installer used one of these. Look at the base of the steering column (you may need to remove a trim panel or two to get a clear visual).

I must say I'm interestest in this option, but have never seen it installed first hand. Are there companies that specialize in this type of work? If so, are there any in Texas where I live. I've heard that this feature is more popular in colder locations. We sure are not that cold down here!
