Electrical Short Possiby???

2001 lxi sebring. When I gas up every so often car will not start off the bat. Three turns of the key later it will. What would cause this?

Also when driving at night with lights on, and go to turn the turn signal on for lane change the whole dash lights give a quick flicker incuding the radio. What would cause this?

I had similar problems with a 2001 Sebring I recently got rid of. The flickering dash lights - The dealer replaced the light switch assembly on the steeering column and that solved the problem.

I had a random no start that turned out to be two problems. First the car's trip computer/compass had a problem and caused random no-starts. Second - I found that the big nut that held the positive battery cable to the underhood fusebox was overtightened at the factory and was its stud stripped out. This allowed the nut to back off and loosen up the connection. Fixed it by installing a large washer under the nut .

Hope this helps.
