2000 Suburban Starting Probs

Help,

My 2000 Suburban, 5.3 Vortec won't start when the outside air temperature is greater that about 88 degrees F. The fuel tank fuel pump, fuel filter have both been replaced. Feels like a vapor like. Have to let it sit for about 4-5 hours when temp comes down, then it will usually start wioth no problems. Any Ideas------Steve

Recall?

I just visited this forum after about a year because my fuel guage went bad on the way to work today. I also have been getting a "service engine soon" light, that recently went away. I read your post and rememebered a recall letter I got about the engine not starting. After reading it, I realized it may be my problem also.

I'm quoting the letter..."On some of these vehicles the fuel module reservoir assembly that contains fuel pump wires and/or connetors may over heat under certain operations. This condidtion may result in one or more of the following conditions: 1) an engine stall or no-start condition due to a blown fuse (Your possible symptom), 2) inaccurate fuel level readings (My symptom), and/or, 3) a Service Engine Soon light......blah blah.....At this time, we are working with our supplier to develop and obtain a service kit to pemanently correct thsi condition as quickly as possible. Blah Blah.....if you smell fuel or experience ony of the conditions listed above, please contant your Chevorlet dealer to arrange a service appointment as soon as possible......"

There is a service number on it also 1.800.630.2438 (8AM to 11pm EST)
