Help Needed

My 95 Contour is making me lose any gripe on my sanity that I may have had. After a distance of perhaps 15 miles she no longer wants to go in reverse and she has problems going into first from stops, but in the morning she is reversing with the best of them. I know absolutely nothing about cars except to check fluids and keep fluid levels good and putting gas in her, so any any help would be appreciated.
