Help? Tuning The Fuel For A 4.3l Vortec

MY BUDDY HAS A 98 S-10 P/U WITH A 4.3 L VORTEC AND JUST GOT A NEW AIRAID INTAKE, AND A POWERAID THROTTLE BODY SPACER, AND IS GETTING A NEW EXHAUST. HAS ANYONE EVER TUNED THE FUEL SIDE OF THESE ENGINES IF SO WHAT ARE SOME POWER GAINING MODS HE CAN GET THAT ARE FAIRLY INEXPENSIVE AND CAN GET GOOD HORSEPOWER GAIN FROM.

Welcome to AF!

No need to yell, we can all hear ya

Anyways, I would suggest a bunch of research. How much money is your friend willing to spend? How much HP gains are you looking for? Does the truck have any other mods? When you say "New Exhaust" is he getting new headers as well?

Post up some more info, and ill see what I can do to help ya

stock manifolds

my buddy is not willing to spend absurd amounts of money but price is negoitiable, anyway he has stock manifolds back to the catalytic converter 3in back to a flowmaster muffler and then 2in dualed out the back he does not want to screw with headers because of header gasket leaks he wants to know if there is any way of gaining a few extra ponies with maybe bigger throttle body or bigger injectors i dont know much about this stuff so i was just wondering if any of you guys out there had any ideas. thanx hellstorm

You say your friend doesnt want to "screw" with headers? Headers are important. I, for 1, wouldnt waste my time with a custom exhaust system, and then have it choked at the exhaust manifolds. But then again, thats just my opinion.

You can most likely find some bigger injectors, bigger TB, TB spacer, Adjustible FPR , etc...

If you price range is a bit higher, look at some computer enhancements (ie: power programming). Maybe a port and polish?

The possibilities are endless....
