Re: egr valve

Why are you buying a new one? Have you tried to clean your EGR yet?

Yes I agree just clean it. No use in buying a new one, unless well it is cheap enough cause you have to take a good amount off t get to it anyway

Re: egr valve

Clean it and reinstall it with a new egr gasket.

If you have to replace, it is ACDelco Part # 214-5593

I agree. Try removing it and cleaning it before buying a new one. I replaced the one on my 95 for $125. It lasted 4 months (warantee ran out after 3 months ) before it needed cleaned.

Thanks. A little background on the problem, My engine light came on about two months ago and I'm getting three codes:

P1406
P1133
P0401

Mechanic thinks the egr valve is bad.

Can you tell me where the egr is and what to clean it with ?

Thanks

Re: egr valve

Please use the search feature to get more information.

You need to remove, clean and reinstall your EGR valve ASAP with a new EGR gasket.

Why you drove around for two months with this problem is ridiculous.
