2002 Taurus 3.0 stalling

Hope you guys can help.
2002 Taurus 3.0 duratec 75000 km stall when your driving and can be started after about 15 mins . No codes ,has fuel pressure and cranks fine. The one thing that has me wondering is where the distributor would go there is a sensor of some sort, it makes a dry bearing type squeek sound every once in a while and then the motor stumbles and levels out again. Is this a cam sensor? and is it hard to replace.
