How to reconnect broke off mirror assembly to door of '93 PAU?

Recently the passenger side mirror assembly broke off from the door. The brake seems clean and I was wondering if there's a way I could glue the base of the mirror assembly back to the door...if so what brand glue should I use. Or, could a body repair shop fix this problem cheatly? Thanks.

You can do it yourself with Devcon Plastic Weld. Comes in a black dual syringe. Mix plenty, mix fast, and put lots of pressure on the repair for at least 5 minutes after joining the parts together. After setting overnight, it makes a super-strong bond.

I did a '93 Lesabre passenger side mirror with this stuff, and it does an incredible job.

I've always said, anything can be fixed with a hammer, screwdriver and roll of duct tape. Duct tape would work here!

anyway, you should be able to see what broke, buy parts, and bolt it back up, thats what I'd do.

Agreed. I used two-part epoxy to glue mirror inside the housing back to its mounting points. Suggestion, set up your method to tightly hold the mirror in place after you put the glue on before you do it. Find some way to rubber band, rope, woodworking clamp... the mirror in place. It's hard to hold something for the 5 minutes or more it will need even after the setup starts. I left mine overnight.

Thanks,
I think that I will try glueing the assembly to the mount on the door. My question to 2KUltra (or anyone else who cares to answer) is, "What did you use to clamp or apply pressure on the mirror assembly to the mount on the door?" Thanks again.

Although I did this several years ago, I remember that I used plenty of adhesive, and also that I applied modearate pressure by just leaning into it for a very short time 5-10 minutes. It was a hot summer day, and this stuff bonds and sets very quickly. You don't need lots of pressure for a long time, just lean into it.

Definately do a couple of practice runs first.

Thanks for your suggestion of using the two-part glue and applying pressure---it worked. Thanks again.
