yeah hey whats up, first time writter, but ive been reading first. And got some questions for yas about my eventual system that is pretty much put together now....in my head. For the front i what to go with CDTcomps the EF-61cf 05. And as for the sub im going to get an re SE-12. Do you think this will be ok when it comes to matching the fronts to the rear sub? Will that be enough mid/midbass? Also the sub will be in a ported box (NG hook it up). What amp should i get for the sub, lets say $300 at the most and under (perferably under) including shipping. I am going to be using the caughstockcaugh HU. So where can i get that device,,, i forgot what they are called. its to take the rear signal wires and splice or connect them to this device, and then to the amp? Now as for rear fill which i would want because some of my songs include them, if that make sence. I was thinking of cl-6x, and by the way is this a 6" or a 6.5" speaker? is it 80 watts max or rms power handleing?
Thanks Last edited by MazProto1; 08-29-2005 at 11:13 PM. |

Re: Re: I got a few Q's, its my turn
yeh your right about the hu, but the only problem i had was that my headunit was an akward size and i didnt want no one to notice anything.
As for the amp would a profile cl600m be ok and for hifonics what amp would you suggest. Also is http://www.audio-warehouse.com an ok place to buy it from? |

Re: Re: I got a few Q's, its my turn
na its not that about it protruding out that dosent bother me its just that my stock hu is like 7.5" by about close to 5" high. which i hope will be the right length. but what im sayn is there will be a hole underneath the hu. Is there like a cover plate or somthing i could get to cover it.

Re: I got a few Q's, its my turn
i know ive seen kits that leave you a lil sotrage pocket underneath. if i were you i would get a 1/2 or 1 din eq to put underneath.

Re: Re: I got a few Q's, its my turn
Ok thanks ironicly i had just noticed those kits at walmart while i was passing by but they dont seem to have the one for my car. i guess ill have to check somewhere else. I know your talking about an equalizer but what would 1/2 or 1 din stand for.
Im definataly going to go with an after market hu now. But i have another question about my systems rear fill, how should i wire it? If im going to use either ef-61's 120rms or ef-61cf's 150rms should i put cl-6x's (i dont know if its 80w rms or peak) and just run them off the hu if it was 50wX4 (which will probably be 25 rms or so would this be enough for them, or loud enough) or should i use a seperate 2 channel amp for them. |

Re: I got a few Q's, its my turn
If you buy your head unit off of www.crutchfield.com. They will supply you with the wiring harness, mounting bracket, that storage pocket, and instructions specifically for your car. AND best of all that is all free with your purchase.
DIN is the basic industry standard size of an aftermarket head unit.

Re: I got a few Q's, its my turn
^^ even if you dont buy your HU from there, they can usually suplpy the brackets n stuff, but i buy all the HUs fro my installs from them, unless i find and outrageously good deal elsewhere.

Is this amp right to power a SE-12 i know it needs 600rms but if this amp is putting it out at 4ohms is that ok if i wire the sub in series? Any other suggestions on amp, or on wireing if the amp is right fill free to wright. Please help. Last edited by MazProto1; 09-03-2005 at 11:17 PM. |
