How Do U Change Thermostat In 2000?

Hello everyone, I am trying to figure out how to change the thermostat in my 2000 malibu. The coolant light keeps coming on and we have to put coolant in it like every other day. Also, I need to figure out how to flush the radiator by myself, anyone know that? Thank you soooo much for all your help!

At this point I would be more concerned with where the coolant is going being that it doesn't evaporate. My first guess would be a leaking intake gasket. Look on the LH side of the engine on the block to see if there is a pool of antifreeze. If coolant is showing up in the car you may have a heater core issue. Otherwise, you're burning it and the exhaust will be white. The thermostat is difficult to get to and I changed mine when I did the lower intake gasket.

If you are adding coolant every other day i would say you have a major problem. I just did my lower intake manifold gasket but i was only adding coolant maybe every few months. Did ya check your oil to see if it has coolant in it. maybe leaking inside the engine. I know this is not the answer to you question but like bearcatdon said I did mine when i changed my lower intake gasket. I would look into the adding coolant evey other day. Take it to the garage and see what they tell you. sould only cost 30 bucks maybe to get them to look at it and tell you what is wrong. if they are not a rip off.
