Oil Leak mystery

I've noticed what appears to be an oil leak on my TJ. It drips down off the oil pan. I didnt know if it were an oil pan leak or an engine rear seal leak however. The strange part is I've checked my oil on several occasions and my oil level never changes. Now Im wondering if maybe it isn't an oil leak, but a transmission leak instead. Its a 5 speed manual, is it possible for a transmission to blow fluid forward so that it leaks from the oil pan?

Re: Oil Leak mystery

Very unlikely, because it should fly backwards when driving, not forward

Re: Oil Leak mystery

How heavy is the leakage? It may just be weeping from a seal.

See if you can trace it up to the source. Wipe everything clean under there, and check it every day or so until the drip reappears. Then you should be able to see where it came from.
