It's a Choppa

Here is the first new one in a while.
The reference was the EazyRider harley.
That engine is kinda wrong.
Poll question
Does 100% traced and painted in
photoshop pass as an illustration?

Wow! I really like it! Great reflections, especially great work with the chrome issue.

Re: It's a Choppa

It's all art.

It won't pass as a pencil drawing, but than again a pencil drawing won't pass as a nicely rendered chopper in Photoshop.

Good job.

Thanx knightvision and lemorris.
I think many art guys are still very
sceptical of digital airbrushing.
I see it as a direct throwback to the 80s and
50s when realistic airbrushing work
was really popular in commercial art.
But I just know art directors are not impressed
and my mom sees it as cheatin' too.

Re: It's a Choppa

Rock and Roll is the Devil.......Hip Hop is just a fad.....the internet will never catch on....the world is flat.

lol

Nobody's gonna think you're a cheat when you're bringin in the big bucks. I get resumes almost everyday and one advantage you have is the fact that you can draw by hand. It's not as common as you guys may think. Your pencil-to-paper knowledge serves to enhance your digital work.

It's funny...I'm many many many....many years working as an artist web dude whatever for a living, and still the only place where "how" you did something matters, is boards where others want to learn. Clients just pay. Bosses just hire.

If you're going for galleries and fine art that's one thing, but in the dog eat dog draw or don't eat world of graphic art and design you're right on point.

Re: It's a Choppa

LoL! I love that one too about how rap is a fad.
I wish the white guys who coined that one would
take a look at russell simmons's wallet.

Thanks again lemorris. I have all kinds of
respect for your skills and opinion.
I went through many reams of typin paper back in the day.
I love your take on clients and bosses.
And I see what you mean about boards and "how" being important. I guess that is really where most of my experience is.

Re: It's a Choppa

Nice job with the chrome and engine! Maybe it's just me, but I think the front spokes get a little too light near the top.

Wuts up Grantrl78,

That lotus is awesome.
You should start a seperate thread for that.

You did the lambo a few weeks ago right (hand ink and color in Photoshop)?

Great work. One comment, as the bike is eem strickly from the side I find the handle on the back too low in comparison with the front one as it gives too much perspective. But it's only details that's an exellent job.
