timing belt replacement

Hi everyone.

I want to replace timing belt in my `01 elantra myself...
I've got some manuals, but they dont' tell much, cause suppose I have my engine out, and free access to all components.
In real life there's very little space... I can easily take out upper cover... probable bottom part too, but need to go under the car.
Anyways, for now, I see engine mount that will not allow me to take out the belt itself. Can I just remove it, or I need to support engine somehow?
Do I need to remove anything else to be able to remove the belt?
I understand though I need to remove all accessory belts...
Anyways... my question is: what parst do I need to remove to get access?

PS: I know I'd better go in some shop, or dealership, but dealership quote me 600 bucks to do the job. Quite very much. So I'll take the risk. Or will go with original one up to some 80k miles... (it has just 60k now...)

Not sure if the '01 is like my '99, but if it is you need to take off the accessory belts, then the side engine cover to get to the timing belt. If you're standing in front of the engine with the hood open, it's on the left side (at least on mine it is). If you need more help let me know. My repair manual covers through '01.

Also--$600 is crazy to replace a timing belt. I got mine done for around $200. You might want to check with other auto shops to get prices.

$600 is really crazy =) local shop can do that for 130, with my part (I've already bought it anyways =) )
do you have printed manual? or electronic?
I used to use OCLS (Orange County Library System) one, but there is no enough info. They say: "remove everything you need to get access to timing belt cover, then remove the cover" =)) very funny =)
Where my timing belt is, I also know. I can easily remove upper part of the cover. but my concern is, there is a engine mount (at least I think it's engine mount =)) that goes right inside timing belt circle. What do I do with this? Can I just unscrew all bolts, and it will come apart, and will easily get back? =) Do I need to support engine while mount is disassembled? and all that sort of questions =)
In general - what do I need to do to get access to the belt. after I'll get the access - I've reat already tons of literature what to do next, and how to align timing marks.

I have a printed manual published by "Haynes". They make good manuals because they completely tear down and rebuild the car, taking tons of pics along the way. I will look and see more specifically how to access the belt, or if you want I can try to scan some of the pages and e-mail it to you or something.

Okay, I just sent it to you--Oh I forgot to mention that you can see the pages pretty well if you use Windows Picture/fax viewer (or similar program) and zoom in on them. Good luck!

I will be replacing my brake pads on weekend, and will try to replace timing belt =)
