Wheel Bearing Issue

From all I have read in here I am having a wheel bearing issue too. I can hear it growlling going straight and it gets much louder when you turn the wheel to the left. Now my question is what side is it? I am not sure if it is the left or the right one and since this is my GF's car I need to know for sure before I dive in to this with her money. It is a 2002 Alero.
Thanks

Re: Wheel Bearing Issue

Bearings are hard to isolate while driving but if it gets louder when you turn left it is probably the one on the drivers side of the vehicle since you put a lot of weight on that side when you turn in that direction. Would be the other side if it got louder when you turned right.

I would have thought if it got louder turning to the left it would be the right bearing because you are loading up the right side when you turn left.

Re: Wheel Bearing Issue

When I changed my 4 wheel bearings, I had someone ride with me while I drove down smooth roads at constant speed. They moved around the car listening until they located each bad bearing (which it turned out was all 4, after I rolled the car they were shocked / dimpled so bad)
