I have a 2001 Focus LX WITHOUT a factory tachometer. I want to swap out my cluster for a factory cluster WITH a tachometer. If I plug my harness into the factory cluster WITH the tachometer...will the tach work? If not...what do I need to do to make it work? Thanks

Re: Factory Cluster Swap
I know that for an aftermarket tach, you would need a tach driver (available from steedafocus.com) but I've never seen someone swap in a factory gauge cluster. You could always order the part and then return it if it turns out you don't need it (though I'm pretty sure you will).

Me personally, im not a big fan of dash mounted tachometers. I just dont see why ford would change the harness between foci that do and dont have tachs.

Re: Factory Cluster Swap
I don't really like them either, except in pure race applications. To be honest, you'd probably get a better answer at focaljet.com.
